Mixed criminal and civil law practice.
 

Crime

Prosecutes and defends in the Crown Court. Recent cases include offences of blackmail, wounding with intent, drugs supply, affray, robbery and aggravated burglary and defending cases of wounding with intent, robbery, affray and theft. Prosecuting junior, led by Nicholas Campbell Q.C., in R -v- Davey, a case involving the alleged rape of a young woman with Down's Syndrome.

Has also appeared before the Court of Appeal Criminal Division both alone and being led by Andrew Robertson Q.C. in R -v- Fulton, a case involving the CCRC.

Also instructed to prosecute sensitive, complex or lengthy Magistrates' Court trials, particularly those involving young or otherwise vulnerable witnesses.

Civil

Acts for West Yorkshire Police in Sexual Offences Prevention Order applications, Closure Order hearings, and in respect of applications under the Proceeds of Crime Act 2002, both at first instance and on appeal, and appears on behalf of West Yorkshire Police at licensing hearings.

Represents both claimants and defendants in small claim and fast track cases in the County Court.

Member of the Criminal Bar Association, Liberty and the Human Rights Lawyers' Association.
